10 ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS:

WHAT FIRST BROUGHT YOU TO THE MOUNTAINEERS?

I first tried indoor climbing in July 2022, and from then I was hooked and knew I needed to learn everything I could about this wonderful sport. Scouring The Mountaineers website introduced me to scrambling, climbing's "cousin", and I signed up for the course minutes after it opened!

Why do you like getting outside with us?

I like to learn new things and meet people who are excited about the same things I'm excited about. The Mountaineers gives me a way to meet people I otherwise would never meet.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOUNTAINEERS MEMORY?

Not much compares to the feeling of summiting my first scramble peak, Guye Peak! It helped me realize that I can do hard things.

WHO/WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

I’m inspired by people who find ways to balance their “regular” lives with their passions/hobbies - the Weekend Warriors among us.

WHAT DOES ADVENTURE MEAN TO YOU?

Adventure means trying cool new things but knowing you’ve prepared yourself. I also know that I’ve had a good adventure if I’m a little tired, sore, dirt-crusted, and happy!

LIGHTNING ROUND

Sunrise or sunset? Sunrise
What's your 11th Essential? A buff or bandanna to keep in my pocket
What's your happy place? Sitting outside in a camp chair
Post-adventure meal of choice? Burger and a Pilsner
If you could be a rockstar at any outdoor activity overnight, what would it be? Multi-pitch climbing
