Kick and Glide: Find the Nordic program best  for you

Are you interested in cross-country skiing with The Mountaineers this winter? Several of our branches offer a variety of classes. Take a look, learn about the differences, and decide which might be the best option for you!

Individual program leaders may be able to recommend equipment rentals, but please note that The Mountaineers does not offer rentals across the organization. Everett Branch - Basic Nordic Skiing Course

Everett’s course focuses on the basic technique of cross-country skiing as well as basic winter travel. The course includes two evening lectures in Everett and three field trips, plus one additional outing to graduate.
Price: $95 for Members, $125 for Non-Members

Olympia Branch - Basic Nordic Skiing Course

Olympia’s course focuses on the basics of winter travel, including an introduction to avalanche awareness, route selection, and cold-weather aliment. The course includes four evening lectures in Olympia and one field trip, as well as two additional outings to graduate.
Price: $40 for Members, $50 for Non-Members

Foothills Branch - Trek & Lunch and Cross-Country Ski Camps at Meany Lodge

Foothills offers several opportunities for new or experienced cross-country skiers at Meany Lodge. Looking for beginner friendly, one-time experience? Sign-up for a Trek & Lunch, which consists of a 3-5 mile ski that ends with a hearty hot lunch at Meany Lodge! Looking for some skill instruction? Sign-up for one of Meany’s ski camps (classic or skate!)  to hone your skills and get some more experience.
Price for Trek and Lunch: $15 for Members or Non-Members
Price for Ski Camps: $45-$65 for Members, $55-$85 for Non-Members

Seattle Branch - Intro & Intermediate Cross-Country Skiing Courses

The Seattle Branch offers a number of multi-day courses, as well as half-day and one-day clinics. Courses and clinics are offered in both skate and classic styles for beginner through intermediate skill levels. All classes are taught on snow by PSIA certified ski instructors.
Price Varies: $60-$95 for Members, $70-$125 for Non-Members
