Nepal's Extraordinary Culture & Landscapes | A Unique Perspective - Mar 16

Photojournalist, adventurer, and author Erika Klimecky has traveled to Nepal several times on various adventures, which has given her a unique window into the country of Nepal and its people. Her photo tour will combine storytelling, imagery and culture of Himalaya and Nepal, giving you enough inside knowledge so you can plan a trip of your own and appreciate it more when you get there.

Erika's work as co-owner, editor, photographer, and writer for Seattle Backpackers Magazine led her to serve as the photojournalist in a nonprofit global awareness program. It took her up the Everest Highway in Nepal to be embedded as the photojournalist for a mostly Nepali team. While steeped in the culture, she made deep friendships and fell in love with the Sherpa culture, and has returned to engage further through volunteer projects and cultural immersion, as well as touring the mountains and other lesser-known areas of Nepal.

Erika will share about these aspects of her Nepal experience:

  • Trekking and climbing
  • Other outdoor adventure
  • Cultural adventure
  • Cultural Immersion through Volunteer-based tourism

Join us March 16

Tickets are $10 for Mountaineers members, and $15 for the general public. The show starts at 7pm and will be held at the Seattle Program Center.
