Goal exceeded during extraordinary season of generosity

We needed to raise $225,000 by December 31 to continue our mission in 2026 and beyond. Our community showed up! By the time we rang in the new year, you had given more than $245,000.

Over the last six weeks, our community came together during a pivotal year-end giving season – one marked by ambitious fundraising goals and driven by our love for the natural world and the outdoor community.

You responded with incredible generosity, and the results reflect the strength and commitment of our community. We didn’t just meet our fundraising goal, we surpassed it, raising an extraordinary $245,000 by year-end!

Our total includes $60,000 raised for the Mountaineers Access Program on Giving Tuesday, replenishing our scholarship fund and ensuring that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of outdoor education, leadership, and connection to community in 2026.

We are especially grateful to the generous members who pooled their funds during the last week of the year to match donations of all sizes. Their leadership inspired a powerful final push and motivated many others to give, amplifying the impact of every donation made in those final days.

This season also welcomed new leaders to our philanthropic community. We’re honored to celebrate 27 new Ridgeline members and 15 new Peak Society members, whose leadership-level support strengthens the foundation that sustains our programs, volunteers, and the future of outdoor recreation.

Every act of generosity plays a vital role in supporting the people, programs, places, and publishing that deliver on our mission. Together, you affirmed something powerful: that our community believes deeply in access, stewardship, and adventure with purpose.

From all of us at The Mountaineers, thank you for making this year-end season one of generosity, momentum, and possibility.
