Campers Say the Darndest Things

Each summer, we offer Mountaineers Summer Camp - a series of week-long camps for kids age 6-12 where campers spend their days rock climbing, learning outdoor skills, swimming, making crafts, and playing camp games. Our campers keep us busy, and more than once we’ve been caught off guard by their cutting commentary and goofy jokes. So this year, we decided to document some of the sillier things we caught them saying. Here’s a highlight of camper-isms from our 2019 Summer Camps:

“No kazoo in the bathroom!”

“I like peeing in the woods because I don’t have to wash my hands.”

“This is my pet bee. I tamed it with this piece of meat.”

“Northgate mall is 50% of my life. My llama hat is the other 50%.”

“On ballet!”

“I don’t have a Dad, just a donor.”

“I used to pick my boogers and eat them. But now I’m more mature. So now I pick, roll, and flick.”

“I’m a really good sniffer.”

“He was trapped. He was a damsel in distress.”

“I have hair growing basically everywhere now.”

“We’re Generation Z, we have to be wild!”

“I THINK THAT MY FUN FACT THAT I WANT TO SHARE IS THAT I HAVE WARTS.”

“Wow, you’re really laying down the law today!”

“My brother did it, and he’s fine. He’s still alive… unfortunately.”

“The gods love me.”

“Ooh, that’s what they meant by ‘put your shirt on'.”

“You know how I’m in love with Owen, right? He just asked me to build a fort with him!”

“THEY’RE NOT TEACHERS, THEY’RE COUNSELORS. IF THEY WERE TEACHERS THEY’D BE SMARTER.”

“I’m living the luxury life!”

“She ate Jupiter and got gassy.”

“Who here wants their pinky toes?”

“Excuse me while I go bleach my ears.”
