2025-2026 Leadership Development Series

Are you currently an outdoor leader, or interested in outdoor leadership but aren’t sure where to start? If so, the Leadership Development Series is for you! We curate the Leadership Development Series to help you expand and hone your outdoor leadership skills. Whether you are new to leadership in outdoor spaces, or have been leading and guiding in the wilderness for a lifetime, there are seminars for you.

 As you explore this year’s Leadership Development Series offerings, you'll find new and familiar faces. We strive to invite outdoor professionals both from within The Mountaineers and beyond to contribute to your leadership journey. 

Seminars will be offered on a wide variety of leadership topics and held primarily online from October 2025 to April 2026. New seminars are being added all the time, so keep an eye on our upcoming events to catch new seminars before they fill up. Recordings will be made available to registrants for most online seminars. 

FY26 Leadership Development Series Topics:

• Equity and Inclusion 
• Conservation and Advocacy 
• Mental Health
• Education/Instruction 
• Group Facilitation 

We are excited to announce two new Leadership Development Badges that can be earned this year, the Leadership Development: Conservation & Advocacy badge and the Leadership Development: Mental Health Badge! 

In order to support our continued dedication to inviting world-class speakers to present for the Leadership Development Series, we are introducing a slight registration fee this year. This will not only support the program, but also allow us to better honor the time and commitment of our incredible speakers. Scholarships are available for anyone who may be prevented from attending due to the new fee. You can find more information about scholarships here.

CALL FOR PRESENTERS! 

We are always seeking  professionals who can present on some aspect of leadership, either technical in nature or focused on "soft skills" involved with managing a group, for our Leadership Development Series!
