This walk will be the third of a series of afternoon walks starting and ending at neighborhood farmer's markets. Queen Anne Farmer's Market is open from 3-7:30pm May 30th - October 10th. For more information about this market, visit their website: https://qafm.org/
By departing at 2pm, I hope to return to the market location around 4:45pm.
We begin by heading north along 1st Ave W to meet up with the crown of Queen Anne at W McGraw St. From there we head west and walk the crown counterclockwise, staying along Queen Anne Boulevard as much as possible.
We will pass by Hills of Eternity and Mount Pleasant cemeteries, Macrina Bakery, Betty Bowen Viewpoint, Kerry Park, Bhy Kracke Park, and Wolf Creek Ravine before returning to our start point at the Farmer's Market.
Bring your cameras as this should be a very scenic walk with views of the Olympic mountains, downtown Seattle skyline, and Lake Union with the Cascades beyond!
I love the idea of supporting local farmer's and growers while getting a good walk in and exploring a neighborhood. I hope these walks will bring mountaineers to new places in Seattle and showcase the diverse collection of seasonal markets this city has to offer.
Meet kitty corner from McClure Middle School (2102 1st Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119) at 2:00 PM, Gear on and ready to go.
I recommend parking in the surrounding neighborhood or using public transit. The #13, #3 and #4 busses all serve this area. Make sure to avoid parking on W Crockett St, as the market will be setting up there!
Required Equipment
The usual water, snacks, appropriate outerwear, and sturdy shoes, plus a reusable shopping bag for the market!
