The Liberty Bell Beckey Route is a classic route. It's a great trip for anyone from competent first-year trad climbers who felt solid on their multipitch routes as a part of the class to folks who've been climbing for years and just want to have some fun. This trip is open to anyone who wants to join, although I do want to keep the group small to avoid crowding.
For leader's permission - please tell me what climbing you have done and are doing in the spring/early summer of 2026, and if you've climbed LB before that's great to know too. Please don't reach out until registration opens.
For first-year trad climbers who have done the Leavenworth multipitches and are considering whether they are ready for this route, I personally find the Beckey Route to be a little bit harder than R&D and easier than Saber or Midway. Since it's a popular route, we should have a group that is relatively dialed and smooth on belay transitions so we don't waste too much time and cause traffic jams. First-year trad climbers should do a couple other multi-pitch climbs before this, like rope leading some basic climbs.
Very early at the Blue Lake trailhead, probably 6 AM https://maps.app.goo.gl/FbXW8TsbfdH79Td7A
Everyone should plan to sleep nearby the night before, at one of the campgrounds or in a car at a trailhead.
