Day Hike - Mount Dickerman

A strenuous, athletic paced hike, climbing/descending steadily the whole way. We’ll move fairly quickly on the trail and enjoy a nice break at this hiker summit. Berries may be ripe and ready for nibbling!

Come hike this Mountain Loop classic, a good test for your late summer fitness, great views at the summit if the weather cooperates, and potentially some berry treats along the way. Our goal will be 2 mph average, not including breaks, a bit slower uphill and a bit faster downhill.  This is equivalent to hiking up Mt. Si in about 2 hours.  Please be confident that this is a pace you will be comfortable hiking at.  We'll take short breaks as needed on the way up, and will enjoy a nice lunch break on the summit before heading down.

What to bring:
Clothing layers as it could be cool or breezy on top, plenty of water for a big climb as there is little or none available along the route, snacks or lunch for the summit, a personal first aid kit and the rest of the 10 essentials, cash for carpool drivers, and a smile!

This is a mentored hike for a new hike leader.  We’ll go rain or shine, but if smoke is too bad the hike will be cancelled.

We’ll meet at the Mt. Dickerman trailhead at 7:45, boots on trail soon after that, an early start to help ensure we can get parking. It’s approximately 1.5 hour’s drive from Seattle.  A carpooling opportunity from a local park and ride will also be offered.
