Cross-country Ski - Sun Mountain Trails

We will meet at 9:00 a.m. at Chickadee Trailhead parking lot. From the town of Winthrop, drive 3 miles on Twin Lakes Road, turn onto Patterson Lake Road, drive 7 miles, turn left unto Thompson Ridge Road (forest service road 4410), and the Chickadee Trailhead is on the left side of road below Sun Mountain Lodge.

It is between a 15 to 20 minute drive from downtown Winthrop to Chickadee Trailhead.

On the third day Methow Weekend Intermediate ski trip we will  ski on Sun Mountain’s intermediate blue and easy green trails below Thompson Ridge and on either side of Beaver Pond.

Intermediate/N3 Classic Ski Skills include:  the ability to ascend and descend smaller hills, good braking,  and ski at an intermediate continuous pace on the less hilly sections.  Feel free to call or email me if you have any questions about the skill set and pace required for this intermediate/N3 trip before you register. 

Plan on arriving to the Methow at least one day before the planned ski. It is an approx. 3.5 hour drive from Western WA.
