This is open to classic and skate skiers, fast and more leisurely skiers, because we will be taking advantage of skiing on a 2-way trail. So fast skiers can cover ground, but it may be a fair amount of back and forth, and you may not get that far on the map. The group will stick together by say, 5 minutes. So fast skiers can ski ahead 5 minutes, then turn around and rejoin us. If this doesn't sound like something you are willing to do, this is not the trip for you. But doing it this way, you can ski at your own pace, not feeling pressured to go faster (assuming you do ski rather than, say, walk,) or have to spend much time getting cold waiting for others.
I plan to ski back and forth, checking in with front and rear people. We will all stop and regroup at the place along the lake shore where there is avalanche danger, and also wherever we turn around and head back. I'd like to ski at least 3 hours, to make the trip worthwhile. We can stay longer if the group wants to, or quit sooner if there's more rain than forecast.
Please be a competent skier on whatever gear you choose, because I'm not providing instruction. Please be sure all your gear is in good working order and appropriately waxed for Fri's temp. And of course, 10 essentials please. Whatever gear you're on, please have used it successfully at least 1 time this winter.
According to NOAA, some chance of rain in the morning. https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=47.3929&lon=-121.3929

windy.com as of Wed. AM says otherwise https://www.windy.com/46.219/-127.557?45.654,-121.530,8
So please be ready for that possibility.
Contact me if you'd like to sign up as asst. leader. I'm inclined to boost participant number with an assistant leader.
Hyak sno-park ready to ski at trailhead at 9am. I can provide carpooling for up to 2 others, meeting at one (1) meetup place with easy on-off access on I-90, in North Bend or someplace between there and Seattle, depending on where carpoolers are coming from. We can decide meeting place after sign-up closes.
Remember you need a sno-park permit with groomed sticker. If you don't have one, better carpool.

Required Equipment
- The Ten Essentials
- Cross-country skis, waxed as appropriate for the temperature of the day, at least in your glide zone if you are on classic gear. Universal temp wax normally works well -- certainly a lot better than no wax at all.
- Poles
- Boots
- clothing appropriate for weather, rain possibility
