What does decades of educational research say about how we can make sure our participants are learning what we intend for them to learn? The principles of adult learning, also called “andragogy,” are approachable, practical, and actionable–and totally applicable to our work with Mountaineers participants!
In this session, Ben will introduce some of the fundamental research-backed principles that have been linked to better learning in adult students, draw connections to the work you do with The Mountaineers, and give you the opportunity to reflect on how you are already implementing some best practices.

This session is intended for anyone who develops, leads, or supports learning opportunities, whether in the classroom or outdoors. Come prepared for conversations with your colleagues, and ready to implement new learning when you return to your branch.
