Beyond Imparting Knowledge: Mentorship that Builds Self-Awareness & Confidence - Online Classroom

Explore practical techniques for mentoring with intention in this Leadership Development Series webinar with Rumi Kodama.

  • Casual

Self-awareness and empowerment are often viewed as natural by-products of gaining experience and learning new skills. But what if we challenged that notion? What if we treated them not as outcomes, but as skills we can actively train and strengthen?

Mentorship goes beyond imparting knowledge. It is about helping emerging leaders grow confident in their decision-making, develop sound judgment, and gain a deeper understanding of their own capabilities and limits so they can lead others safely and effectively.

In this seminar, we’ll explore practical techniques for mentoring with intention, focusing specifically on how to cultivate self-awareness and empowerment as core leadership skills in the outdoor leaders you mentor.

Seminar Notes

This presentation will encourage attendees to ask questions about what has or has not worked for you in the past, how to adapt the presented techniques into your practice, and what obstacles you commonly face. Breakout rooms will be used as time allows to start the brainstorming with peers what adapting these techniques into your practice looks like. All presentation materials will be made available, if notetaking is not your forte.
