A patch badge earned by hiking 100 or more one way miles on trails in the Olympic National Park and Olympic National Forest.

ABOUT THE AWARD

Earn a patch to wear and a badge for your profile for hiking 100 or more miles of trails in Olympic National Park or Olympic National Forest trails after June 1, 1976.

  • Only established trails and readily discernible way trails, in any season, qualify.
  • Private connecting trails may be included.
  • The 18.5 mile "Ocean Beach Way" between Rialto Beach and Cape Alava qualifies.
  • Cross country travel and roads available to four wheeled vehicles do not qualify, nor do trails traversed incidental to a successful climb or hike of a peak when such climb or hike is claimed for credit on another Mountaineers award.
  • Trail mileages count one way only and without duplication on the same or subsequent trips.
  • Party-size must be two or more and adequate equipment, including the ten essentials, must be carried.

HOW TO OBTAIN 

Hike all mileages while a current member of The Mountaineers. The trips can be private and with non-Mountaineer members. Send your award request to the contact below with your name, date you joined The Mountaineers, your total miles hikes, and the date of each hike, name of the trail hiked, miles on that trail, names of all party members. Please DO NOT send links to databases.
