COVID-19: Learn about our most up-to-date guidance for participants and leaders on our COVID-19 Response page. All participants and leaders must agree to the COVID-19 Code of Conduct before participating in this Mountaineers course.

Winter Travels combines all three snowshoe courses taught in the Mountaineer's Tacoma Branch.

It is exactly the same as taking Basic Snowshoeing, Backcountry Snowshoeing and Winter Camping courses individually. The advantage is that there is just one sign up for all three modules and you may proceed to the Backcountry Snowshoeing module before actually graduating basic snowshoeing provided that the classroom lecture, field trip and one Mountaineer's snowshoe trip have been completed.

All requirements for each of the modules still exist. The same five year window to complete ALL the requirements still applies. As an incentive to have students commit to all three modules this way, there is a fee reduction as compared to signing up for each individually. There is also only one conservation activity since this is only considered one course. (Please feel free to volunteer more if you choose.)

Course Cost
Basic Snowshoeing $75.00
Backcountry Snowshoeing $80.00
Winter Camping $65.00
Total $220.00

Winter Travels $187.00 Save $33.00

Check out each of the three course offerings, Basic snowshoeing, Backcountry Snowshoeing and Winter Camping to see what each entails before signing up for this combo.

Note: Either the December or January Basic Snowshoe Class may be used for this course. Just email the course leader in advance so that we know which session you will be attending.
