Sea Kayak Celebration: Gear Grab, Potluck and More - Mountaineers Tacoma Program Center

Calling all kayakers, past, present and future- Join us for a special evening to socialize, snag (or sell) some needed gear, feast on a potluck dinner, recognize Tacoma course graduates and award winners, and share your favorite trips from the season. Paddlers from all branches are welcome.

GEAR GRAB:

Sellers - If you want to sell kayaking and/or camping gear:

  • Contact Lori before November 15 to rsvp as a seller. (loristole@outlook.com)
  • Doors will open by 4:30. Arrive in time to be ready for sales by 5:00 pm. Have prices already marked.

 Buyers – The Gear Grab will be open for purchases from 5-6pm.

Appetizers - Starting 5:30pm, Enjoy food while shopping the sale  and visiting with paddle friends

 POTLUCK:

Appetizers should arrive by 5:30. All other food should arrive by 6:10 pm. Start filling plates at 6:15!

  • Bring your non-disposable plate, cup/glass, utensils, and your potluck contribution + serving utensil, ideally in non-disposable container.
  • Bring your own beverage.

    Suggested potluck dish:
    • Last name starts A-P             Salad, Side or Main dish  
    • Last name starts Q-S                Dessert
    • Last name starts T-Z             Appetizer

 Your Fantastic Trips

  • Did you have a great trip recently that you’d like to share? Then consider being part of the program!
  • Submit your presentation request with topic and preferred amount of time, to Lori by Nov 1 for consideration. If there are more potential presentations than fit into the available time, we’ll select a broad variety within that week.

 Guest:  You are welcome to bring a partner/friend. Adults only. If they are not a Mountaineers member, and therefore cannot register online, please email Lori.
