Many mountaineers multi-day trips requires previous kayak camping experience.  This overnight clinic is intended to provide this experience.  This clinic, in relatively benign conditions, teaches principals that you may apply to the conditions of your choice.  We will cover basic kayak camping equipment (vs car camping), use of dry bags, how to pack your boat for proper trim, launching and landing a loaded boat (we will not cover open coastal paddling), how to deal with rain, and how to perform rescues with loaded boats. All participants will be asked to perform a T-rescue with a loaded boat.  There will be an online zoom meeting before the trip, to go over equipment and kayak camping concepts. No previous camping experience required.

This clinic may be utilized as a single student paddle. Students should have done at least one student paddle prior to going on this trip.

I've reserved 2 sites, capable of holding 3 tents each.  If people are sharing tents, I can increase participation numbers.

Pomeroy Park, Manchester. Ready to paddle at 9 AM.

Southworth Ferry Beach, end of Sebring Drive, just to the north of the ferry on-ramp. Ready to paddle at 1:30 PM, Saturday August 2nd. Parking in the Ferry upper lot. Difficult to turn cars around on Sebring Drive.
