Meet at Burton Acres Park, on Vashon Island, just E of the town of Burton at 09:15.  We'll take care of rental outfitting and don drysuits and launch at 10:30.  Depending on conditions, we'll explore the inner and outer harbors and lunch at Dockton Park.  Bathrooms available on ferries, at the launch site, and at Dockton Park.

Launch from Burton Acres/Vashon Watersports after acquiring rental gear, fitting boats, and reviewing the paddle plan on the chart.  Along the way we'll practice boat control skills.  Have lunch and paddle back.  Self and assisted rescues performed at paddle's end.  Optional dinner in Vashon town at the "Red Bicycle" afterwards.  This is intended as a "student paddle" for this year's students.  All participants will need to be dressed for immersion, and will practice their self and assisted re-entries.  Leader permission is required.
