LEADERS NOTES: This class is designed for those wanting trail first aid training, but unable to participate in Wilderness First Aid (WFA) or Mountaineer Oriented First Aid (MOFA) classes.  I am a physician who has completed MOFA and WFA but because of the limited scope of this course, you will not obtain any special certification.  It is also meets the minimum requirement  for first aid and emergency medical training to becoming a volunteer hike and backpacking leader through Tacoma Branch although either MOFA or WFA are required eventually for all Tacoma  Hike and Backpack leaders.

General topics covered include:   Prevention of illness and injury, Assessment and treatment of common illnesses or injuries, Recommendations concerning items  for a personal first aid kit.

The fee is $35 for Members and $60 for non-members.  (Any fees collected are donated to the Tacoma Hiking and Backpacking Committee which is always working to enrich all hiking and backpacking activities for the greater Tacoma community!)
