Day Hiking Course

Lookouts and High Places

Head for the high country and prepare for some elevation gain with this series of hikes to many of Washington’s iconic lookouts, vistas and favorite peaks.

Scholarships. The Mountaineers is dedicated to making the outdoors accessible to everyone. We offer gear loans and scholarships to reduce financial barriers. If money is keeping you from getting outside, please apply for a scholarship. If you'd like to help make the outdoors more inclusive, consider making a tax-deductible donation.

Prospective students must have the Low-Impact Recreation badge in their profile to register for this course.  ***If interested in registering and do not have this badge, please do as soon as possible since it can take  up to a week for the Mountaineer office to award the actual badge after you complete the course.  The leaders cannot help to get the badge awarded; only the Mountaineer office can do that.***

Destinations in this Lookouts and High Places hike series will include Sourdough Gap, Tatoosh Peak, Eagle Peak Saddle, Hannegan Pass, Granite Mountain, Gobblers Knob, Fremont Lookout, Shriner Peak, Brown Peak, Skyscraper Peak, Cutthroat Pass, Yellow-Aster Butte and many more beautiful destinations.
