Driving over Mt. Rainier National Parks oldest vehicle suspension bridge, we will find our trailhead. The trail begins in a lovely forest of old western red cedar, Douglas-Fir and western hemlock. We will make our way up a series of switchbacks and then come into an open talus/meadow slope with more switchbacks. As we climb higher, we will have views of Mt. St Helens and Mt. Adams if the weather allows. Once we reach the Eagle Peak Saddle, we will find a spot to enjoy our lunch with outstanding views of Mt. Tahoma. After our lunch break, we will return to our vehicles the way we came.

For safety, we will all hike as a group so please assess beforehand whether this distance/elevation gain/pace will suit you before registering.

My style: I am curious, love to be wowed by Nature and adventure. As a leader, my style is more relaxed stopping to be in wonder, enjoy the views, enjoy any flowers blooming, keeping an eye out for critters and enjoying how we each respond to the awe presenting itself. I value the journey as much as the destination and strive to foster hiking as a wholistic experience (body, mind and spirit).

More information will be provided in the Hello Hiker email

We will meet at 8:00am at Longmire, be ready to hike at 8:15am. Restrooms are available near the Longmire Museum and National Park Inn.
