This day we will start out with getting to know the instructors and the students. Starting out with a stove demo. Most of the presentations will be comprised of small group sessions led by our knowledgeable instructors where you will get a chance to see and ask questions about their favorite gear.
Also included will be sections on food preparation, food storage and nutrition.
We will finish up the day discussing best practices for Leave No Trace, animal encounters, and trip planning.
Students will leave the day being matched with a mentor they can have direct contact with in order to ask questions prior to any field trips.
The Tacoma Program Center 9:00 am-3 pm.
