Virtual Watercolor Workshop With Claire Giordano
- Tue, Jun 16, 2020 from 04:30 PM to 06:30 PM
- Seattle Program Center
- The Mountaineers
- iCal
Join local artist Claire Giordano for a virtual watercolor lesson! Claire will teach us how to paint an iconic Pacific Northwest peak in a beautiful monochrome style (one color means you don't need many supplies!). During the workshop she will demonstrate the basic techniques needed for the painting and then lead us through the creation of each major element of the landscape. This class is for all levels.
In support of The Mountaineers temporary closure due to Covid-19 public health guidelines, Claire will be donating 50% of ticket sales to support The Mountaineers mission.

Materials List
To make this class as accessible to as many people as possible, the materials are kept minimal and you're encouraged to use whatever you have on hand!
Paint: A single color of watercolor (the darker the better so you can get a good range of light and dark tones you can create). If you want to buy one tube of paint, the Daniel Smith Neutral Tint or Indanthrone Blue are two of Claire's favorites. You are of course welcome to use more than one color, too!
Paper: an 8x10 or 5x7 inch piece of watercolor paper, plus a spare piece of paper for practicing techniques
Brushes: a medium sized round brush (such as an #8 round) and a flat brush if you have it. You could create the whole painting with a single medium round brush as well.
Paper towel or rag
Cup of water
Pencil and eraser
Computer with an internet connection
