"Walking the Wild" celebrates extraordinary trekking and backpacking adventures by Mountaineers members with stories, photography and information for other members to add those same experiences to their life list!

In this second evening event of compelling photo and storytelling from the wilds of the world,  Daniel Zilcsak will tell the story of hiking the world famous and truly spectacular John Muir Trail.  In addition to his photos, Daniel will talk about how he and his wife decided to pursue such a long hike, what it takes to prepare, the permits, the gear, the food, the day to day stories and what it feels like to be there, the people they met on the trail, and, least but not last, what they brought home in the end. "This trip has marked me in ways that rival my most cherished memories from childhood and I could not be happier for walking it. So, come with us Along the John Muir Trail in 18 Days. ”
  -- Daniel Zilcsak

Daniel is an avid outdoorsman and a member of The Mountaineers since 2014. He and his wife Timea have been relentlessly roaming the Pacific Northwest peaks and valleys for the last decade or so,  ever since they moved to this side of the world all the way  from the beautiful Transylvanian region of Romania.   Follow them online at www.Zilcsak.com.

Beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks will be served.  Tickets will be required to attend the event which is open to Mountaineers members and the general public.  $10 for members, $12 for non-members, plus a small ticket processing fee.  To purchase your tickets go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/walking-the-wild-along-the-john-muir-trail-in-18-days-with-daniel-zilcsak-tickets-35015221470.
