Seattle Explorers & Jr. MAC Kick-Off Trip - Leavenworth

We offer a Kickoff trip or a "trial trip" where we will car camp, climb, and hike in Leavenworth. This trip will be open to returning students and those who have been awarded a spot in the program through this lottery and want to try out their fit with the program. Students who have expressed interest through this lottery or elsewhere, but were not awarded a spot in the program through this lottery, unfortunately, will not be invited to the Kick-Off Trip. Club Staff will sent you the registration link to the Kick Off trip if awarded a spot through the lottery.

Every year, Explorers & Jr. MAC host a Kick-Off Trip which serves as a try-out for prospective new members and a chance for all returning members to get reacquainted with one another over a weekend of rock climbing and hiking. We will have a couple groups each day going out to various crags and hikes, camping  in Leavenworth at Nason Creek Campground (our first year there) with a communal meal, all led by adult chaperones/Mountaineers staff and volunteers.

This trip is community focused and should give anyone new to the program a good idea of what our culture is like. Interested members need not pay/commit to the club before attending this trip, and will be invited to make their decision to join or not after this trip.

If you'd like to borrow non-climbing gear, please submit your request to the gear library.

Nason Creek Campground

Meet at Nason Creek Campground by 8pm Friday, Sept 26th for a quick orientation meeting with staff and participants.

If you're planning on joining us early saturday morning, be at Nason Creek Campground by 8am.
