Seattle MAC - Cross-Country Ski Day Trip - Snow Bowl Hut, High Hut & The Yurt

An overnight cross country ski trip in which participants will ski in with camping gear and stay overnight at a hut or other back country campsite area. This trip has prerequisites, see leaders notes for details.

Participants must be strong, experienced cross-country skiers. Either prior personal experience or attendance on the MAC cross country ski in January, along with attendance at the snow camping trip in February, is required for this trip.

  • X-Country Ski Poles (Program will provide)

  • Sleeping bag
  • Sleeping pad
  • Pack cover or plastic bag for water repellence
  • Wool/synthetic socks (at least three pairs)
  • Camp shoes (insulated, waterproof if possible)
  • Long sleeve (synthetic)
  • Long underwear (synthetic)
  • Warm jacket (fleece or wool)
  • Warm pants (fleece or wool)
  • Waterproof shell (jacket and pants, with a hood on the jacket)
  • Down jacket or extra fleece layer
  • Underwear (at least three pairs; synthetic)
  • Stocking cap (wool or synthetic)
  • Brimmed hat
  • Waterproof gloves/mittens (at least two pairs)

  • Sunglasses/goggles (Polarized, broad spectrum UV protection)
