FLOW - Fun and Learning on the Water - Deception Pass

Incident Management in Action. We will put our incident management skills into action in scenarios.

  • Sea Kayak IV
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.0 nm
  • Maximum Wind: 20 kts
  • Maximum Waves: 5 ft
  • Maximum Currents: 6 kts
  • Pace: 3.2

Be ready for a 9am shore talk somewhere in the Deception Pass area.  Where we launch will depend on weather conditions.  The ideal venue for this outing will have some protected waters and some exposed waters.

Anticipate completing the trip by 4:30pm.

In this flow workshop we will put our risk management into action in scenario practice.

Structure:

  • Refresh some individual skills
  • Incident practice

As much as possible, we will practice our incidents in conditions.  I've stated max conditions of 20kt and 5ft waves.  If those are present, we might enter them, but ideally from a calmer location with the ability to retreat.

This flow clinic is intended for people with incident management training and a desire to refresh and practice.  Participants must have had at least an introduction to incident management course.
