Learn how to safely play and maneuver in areas of ebb current (at least 4 kts) and eddy lines. Participants should have some familiarity with edging their boat and bracing. Comfort with capsize, wet exit, and buddy rescue are essential.
In this clinic we will be discussing and practicing:
- how to do eddy turns,
- how to paddle in whirlpools and boils,
- how to eddy-hop against a current,
- how to use S-turns and ferry glides to cross a channel that has current and
- practice wet exits and self- and assisted-rescues in dynamic current conditions.
Helmets required.
Meet at Cornet Bay at 10:00 AM. Ready to paddle at 11:00 AM
