Sea Kayaking Course

Support, Turning, and Combination Strokes

Support, Turning, and Combination Strokes Workshop Series

The Support, Turning, and Combination Strokes Workshop Series will meet at Concrete Beach, 0700 on each of three Sundays; we will train on the water from 0800 to 1200.  The series is designed to assist kayakers who have helped with the  BSK, and/or students who have completed at least one student paddle, to vastly improve their strokes and maneuvers.

The first session.5/13, will concentrate on maintaining and/or regaining balance while edging their kayaks.

The second session, 5/20, will examine the various ways to turn a kayak, and effect that serious edging can have on each of them.

The third session, 5/27, will involve linking and/or combining many of these new and improved strokes into things of beauty and effectiveness.

Prerequisites - Basic Sea Kayaking graduates (or equivalents), and Basic Sea Kayaking students who have completed at least one student paddle. Priority given to 2018 Basic Sea Kayaking students, and volunteers who helped with the Basic Sea Kayaking Course.
