Field Trip Instructor Training for Wilderness Navigation - Seattle - 2022 - Discovery Park

Would you like to become a lead instructor at the Discovery Park Navigation Field Trip? If so, then this practice session will help prepare you with teaching techniques, tools, and tricks of the trade. New instructors are encouraged to attend. Experienced instructors are also welcome, especially if you haven't instructed for a few years. If you're already familiar with Discovery Park, we will include some new "variations on the theme".

We'll meet at the south parking lot, and go through the course from an instructor's point of view. We'll go over key points you should cover with your small group, and give prospective leaders an opportunity to 'rehearse' their skills. We'll also cover specific skills in more detail, as needed.

In order to attend you need to be a Basic (Off-Trail) Navigation Course graduate. On-Trail badges do not qualify for this activity.
