CHS - North Cascades Campout - Thornton Lakes & Trappers Peak

We will hike to Thornton Lakes and then head up to Trappers Peak through forest to a rocky outcrop with amazing panoramic views of Mount Triumph, Mount Despair and the Picket Range. CHS 2 hike led at a pace of 2.0+ mph.

Timeline: 

7:00 AM - Leave Goodall Campground

8:00-15 AM – Thornton Lakes / Trappers Peak TH  

3:30 PM - Back to TH 

From Marblemount, drive Highway 20 (also known as the North Cascades Highway) east for 11 miles. Then turn left onto Thornton Lakes Road between mileposts 117 and 118. Proceed down this sometimes rough gravel road for about five miles to the trailhead at the road's end.

Meet up: 
Leaving 7 AM – Goodall Campground

Car Pooling: 
Is not required. However, we do encourage carpooling because it saves space at the trailhead parking lot and provides time to get to know your fellow hikers. If you’re willing to drive, please email the group. 

Driver Reimbursement: 
We recommend reimbursing drivers at rate of $0.12/mile.

Cancelations: 
If you need to cancel please do so as soon as possible on the web site or call Don at 206-817-0515.

Gear: 
Bring your 10 Essentials. Be prepared for sun and wind and maybe bugs too.

Water: 
I’m planning at least 2+ liters.
