CHS 2 Pacing Hike - Squak Mountain: Bullitt Fireplace Access

THEME OF HIKE: This is a spring equinox CH2 Pacing hike. Celebrate the Spring Equinox with a hike. 

Meeting place and time: Arrive by 6:45 for introductions and ready to hike promptly at 7:00 am. May Valley Loop Trailhead, 13201 Squak Mountain Rd SE, Issaquah.

Toilet: At trailhead

Trip Description:  Starting at the May Valley TH, we'll climb through the lush forest of Bullitt Gorge on the south side of the mountain and head to the fireplace. 

Route:  This is a semi-loop route. 

Pass: Discover Pass

Weather: Be sure to check the weather closer to the date. from NWS, from Mountain-Forecast.com (for Squak Mtn)

Expectations: We will hike as a group, with focus on enjoying the morning and nature together. The lead person must be able to see the sweep person.

After Hike: After the hike you’re invited to tail gate with me at the trailhead.  I'll have some snacks and ying/yang cookies to celebrate spring equinox.  

Carpooling options:  If you would like to join a carpool, please send an email to the roster.

Needed Equipment:  Bring snacks. We'll stop for a quick break in the vicinity of Central Peak. Poles are a recommended part of your gear for this hike.  And, of course, your 10 Essentials with appropriate clothing layers and an extra pair of socks.
