THEME OF HIKE: This is a Voo Doo Donut Hike: I'll be hauling a magical box of VooDoo Donuts to a scenic spot along the trail. At the high point, we’ll take a wild guess at the exact elevation gain. Closest guess wins first pick of the donuts!
Meeting place and time: Arrive by 6:45 for introductions and ready to hike promptly at 7:00 am. Rattlesnake Trailhead:
From I-90 take exit 32 for 436th Avenue SE. Turn right onto 436th Avenue SE, also signed as Cedar Falls Road SE. Proceed about four miles down the road to the Rattlesnake Lake parking lot on the right. Coordinates: 47.4347, -121.7687

Trip Description: As you ascend the trail and gain elevation, there will be a few places where you can look down on Rattlesnake Lake and appreciate your progress.

Weather: Be sure to check the weather closer to the date. from NWS, from Mountain-Forecast.com (for Squak Mtn)
Expectations: We will hike as a group, with focus on enjoying the morning and nature together. The lead person must be able to see the sweep person.
After Hike: After the hike you’re invited to tail gate with me at the trailhead. I'll have some snacks and cold/hot drinks depending on the temperature.
Carpooling options: If you would like to join a carpool, please send an email to the roster.
Needed Equipment: Bring snacks. We'll stop for a quick break in the vicinity of Central Peak. Poles are a recommended part of your gear for this hike. And, of course, your 10 Essentials with appropriate clothing layers and an extra pair of socks.

Note: If your GPS or mapping program directs you to 208th Ave SE in Hobart, beware that this is outdated information. This road used to access the Rattlesnake trailhead, but now dead ends 7 miles down the road.
