The usual way to hike Marmot Pass is from the east side via the Upper Big Quilcene trail.  We'll hike to Marmot Pass from the west side.  The hike starts at the Dungeness River Trailhead, heads up the valley into the Buckhorn Wilderness, before ascending to Marmot Pass.
