CHS 2 Hike - Thorp Mountain Lookout

We’ll journey this loop in a counterclockwise direction, from Thorp Creek Rd trailhead to Little Joe Lake, then westward toward Thorp Mountain, finally reaching Thorp Mountain fire lookout where we will have 360 views. Expect some steep sections and some exposed portions on the trail, along with wildflowers and butterflies. CHS hike led at a CHS 2 pace (2.0-3.0 mph)

Please plan for this to be an all-day outing, when accounting for the hike + the I-90 traffic. We'll have  an optional stop for food and/or ice cream in Roslyn after the hike.

Mapping tools report a mix of mileage and elevations for this hike, between 9.25-10.0 miles and 3,200-3,700 ft of elevation. Regardless, there is a steep section in the first two miles, and another steep section reaching the lookout.
