This is a hike from White Pass south on the Pacific Crest Trail to lovely Shoe Lake. We will get views of the Goat Rocks and surrounding mountains.
This hike is part of the CHS Mount Rainier Campout weekend at the La Wis Wis campground. It is highly recommended that hikers spend Saturday night at the campground to avoid the 2.5-3 hour drive from the Seattle area. It is possible to drive down and back the same day, but expect that you will have to leave the Seattle area at about 4:30am. If you drive down, this will be a very full day for you, so please don't plan any other activities after the hike back at home.
Meet at the Pacific Crest Trail trailhead - White Pass South at 7:30am. The trailhead is a 2.5 to 3 hour drive from Seattle. If you are camping at the La Wis Wis campground for the CHS Rainier Campout, the trailhead is about a 25 minute drive away.
There are no bathrooms at this trailhead, but there are bathrooms in the White Pass Lake campground directly across highway 12 from our trailhead. Parking is limited at this trailhead, and if it is full we will need to park on the north side at the PCT-White Pass North traihead.
