CHS 2 Hike - Poo Poo Point from Tiger Mountain Trailhead

Did you hear that? If you listen closely, you may still hear the ghostly whistle of the logging train going “poot-poot” that earned the summit its folksy name of Poo Poo Point. We will likely see trillium, bleeding heart, yellow violets, early spring flowers, as we meander up the trail. And if we are really lucky, we may see paragliders taking off, and may wish to take that same leap one day! CHS hike led at a CHS 2 pace (2.0-3.0 mph)

  • moderate
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 8.2 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,600 ft
  • Pace: 2-3 MPH

Sturdy waterproof footwear and trekking poles are recommended.

Pit toilets available at the TH. They may not be well maintained. Please bring your own toilet paper.

Please bring small, energizing snacks that are easily consumed during our short 5-minute breaks that you can eat on the go! A treat will be provided during our bunch break, a well-deserved energizing GF treat as we relax at the summit. If Mt. Rainier is out, we can decide to hike down about a half mile to eat our snack with an amazing view.

My co-leader, Yu-Chin, and I are looking forward to sharing this 3.7-mile out and back hike with you. More details about this hike will be provided in the “Hello Hiker” email.
