CHS 2 Hike - Kachess Ridge
Leave the crowds behind as we follow Silver Creek through forest and past wide-open meadows. Views of the French Cabin mountains will peek out from the distant horizon, until they loom above us at our turn-around point: the saddle between French Tongue and French Chin. CHS hike led at a CHS 2 pace (2.0-3.0 mph)

Meet at Tibbets Valley Park & Ride at 7am to carpool to trailhead. No parking pass required at TH.
You can google "Kachess Ridge Trail" or follow these directions: drive east on I-90 to exit 70, signed for Lake Easton State Park. At the end of the ramp, turn left over the freeway. At the ‘T’, go left on Kachess Dam Road for one half mile, then right to stay on Kachess Dam Road (FR 4818). Travel another 0.8 mile, mostly on gravel, then turn right onto an unmarked one-lane dirt road. The road is rutted but driveable by most vehicles. At 0.6 mile, the dirt road ends at the trailhead. There is parking for about 10 vehicles, including along the shoulder. There are no amenities and no parking pass is required.
This hike will likely have snow in the last 2 miles; microspikes and poles are highly recommended since it will be slushy in the sun/heat. There are also several creek crossings (9 last time I visited) and while all of them had rocks/logs to cross a year ago, conditions may have changed since then.
