There will be a choice of two hikes offered on Saturday, May 25.  Gregg Pilgreen will lead an 11.5 mile hike starting at the Coyote Wall Trailhead.  Kari Durr and Jim Souza will lead a 10.1 mile hike starting from the Catherine Creek Trailhead.

Hikers staying at the Cascade Motel should meet at the circular driveway at the front of the motel by the main office at 7:45 a.m. so that we can carpool to the trailheads from there.  Hikers not meeting at the motel should send an email indicating which hike they are planning to go on to Gregg Pilgreen at stevetahoma@rainierconnect.com by 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening, and then meet at the appropriate trailhead and ready to hike at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

A Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful Pass is required for parking at the Catherine Creek trailhead, but no pass is required at the Coyote Wall trailhead.

This hike is arguably the most spectacular in the Columbia River Gorge.  Traveling along high basalt cliffs, and through stately oak forests, legendary flower fields, and outstanding rock formations, it is a hike not to be missed.

The group led by Gregg Pilgreen will start at the Coyote Wall Trailhead, hike along Old Highway 8 to the Little Maui Trail, then take the Labyrinth Trail to the cutoff for the Rowland Ridge Trail, then hike north to the Atwood Road Trail, follow it west to the Coyote Wall Trail, then head south to the Little Moab Trail, where we will complete the loop and head back to our cars at the Coyote Wall Trailhead via Old Highway 8.

The group led by Kari Durr and Jim Souza will start at the Catherine Creek Trailhead and hike along the Rowland Ridge Trail to the cutoff for the Labyrinth Trail, then hike to the CO8 Trail north to the Atwood Road Trail heading west, then take the C02 Trail to the Coyote Wall Trail.  From there, travel southeast to the Little Maui Trail to a connector trail, and then complete the loop by taking the Labyrinth Trail to the Rowland Ridge Trail and back to the Catherine Creek Trailhead.

The map for both hikes is Green Trails - Columbia River Gorge East, OR-WA - No. 432S.
