7:00am at the Issaquah Transit Center off SR-900. (Not the one at Issaquah Highlands.)
Those who are comfortable carpooling are encouraged to do so. Driving individually is OK too.
Beautiful Talapus Lake is a well known destination along the I-90 corridor, but few venture beyond. We will hike to Talapus then keep going past Olallie Lake to paradoxically-named Island Lake. Depending on snow conditions we may also make a brief side trip to Rainbow Lake.
Depending on snow conditions microspikes may be required.
On the way back we'll stop in North Bend at either the North Bend Bar and Grill or Scott's Dairy Freeze.
The trail starts at the popular Talapus Lake Trailhead, so we'll get an early start to avoid the crowds.
