CHS 1 Hike - Kendall Katwalk

This hike on the Pacific Crest Trail will take us to a narrow trail blasted into a cliff face with views of wildflowers, mountains, and ridges near Snoqualmie Pass. We'll continue on to Ridge Lake before making our return trip. CHS hike led at a CHS 1 pace (1.5-2.0 mph).

  • Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 14.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,600 ft
  • Pace: 1.5-2.0 mph

We will meet at Tibbetts Park and Ride at 7:00.

From the park and ride we will carpool to the trailhead off of I90 at exit 52.  At the end of the exit ramp, turn left under the freeway onto Alpental Rd. In just 0.1 mile, take the first right, unmarked but featuring a sign in Forest Service brown announcing the need for a parking pass. In another 0.1 mile, the road splits. To the right is the main parking lot, large enough for over 50 vehicles. To the left is the stock (horse trailer) lot, and overflow parking. Both have vault toilets. A Northwest Forest Pass or equivalent is required.

We will continue past the Katwalk another 1.25 miles to reach a pair of lakes.
