Highlights of this trail include numerous waterfalls and dramatic rock formations carved by the rushing waters of the river itself. Check out peoples' photos on AllTrails to get a sense of the natural beauty that awaits us. We'll have numerous woodland flowers, plants, and mosses keeping us company along a gently rolling trail through old growth forest. If conditions allow, we may even do some light wading in the river when we reach our picnic spot at the halfway point, or near the waterfalls on our way back to the trailhead.
We will meet no later than 7:30AM at the Ash Way Park and Ride in Lynnwood* to form carpools. We will then drive together to the Boulder River Trailhead, arriving around 9:00 AM. We'll have our boots and packs on ready to start hiking by 9:15 AM.
There is a vault toilet a mile in from the turnoff on French Creek Road, but no facilities at the trailhead. No parking pass required.
*We can also rendezvous at the Lynnwood City Center Transit Station if anyone plans on taking a bus or light rail to the carpooling location.
