Field trip: Conditioning Hiking Series
CHS 1 Hike - Big Creek Falls & Otter Falls
CHS hike led at a CHS 1 pace (1.8-2.0 mph). Due to this very gentle grade we'll be closer to a walking speed of 2 mph except going up to Otter Falls. Big Creek first, lunch at Otter Falls.

Leader is a birder and photographer and will have led CHS-2s up this trail to Snoqualmie Lake the week before to scout trail conditions. I like to include sensory pauses, but since this is a CHS-1 we'll do a clothing adjustment at 10-12 minutes, walk briskly (2 mph) over the gentle grade trail, take 3 minutes every 30-45 minutes for bio/snack/bird/photo breaks, and average 1.8-2 moving time. Bring wading shoes if you wish to go in Lipsy Lake at Otter Falls.
Plan is to go straight to Big Creek Falls for group photos then backtrack to Otter Falls for a longer (15-minute) snack break, photos, and wading if you wish, depending on weather condtions. Lovely shaded trail with water sounds for most of it.
Tuesdays with Court continues with an early morning start to enjoy birds, shade, and peace on the trail. Be at the TH booted and ready for introductions at 6 am so we can be walking by 6:15 a.m. It's JUNE and the sun comes up EARLY. Carpooling details will be forthcoming in Hello Hiker. Road past Garfield Ledges has been greatly improved so most cars shouldn't have any problems.
