Newly created trail by Bellingham Parks department with a lot of assistance from WTA in 2017 and 2019. Firm with just a few wet spots and steady slope. Nice view of Lake Whatcom at the mid-point. Lots of canopy cover. Porta-Potty at the trailhead and another a few yards down from the mid-point.
Post-hike meal possible in Bellingham at Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen
Leave Chuckanut P&R (I-5 Exit 231) at 8:15am or meet at Chanterelle trailhead at 9am. King/Snohomish County carpool options, Greenlake P&R or Ash Way P&R.
