Backpacking Food Dehydration Field Trip - Meadowdale Beach Park

A day hike with backpacking supplies to practice successfully cooking dehydrated food in the backcountry.

  • Easy
  • Easy
  • Mileage: 3.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 425 ft

Together we will hike down to Meadowdale Beach to prepare our meals.

We will tackle this hike at an easy pace and adjust as needed--slower on the uphill and faster on the downhill to meet participants needs but always being able to see someone in front and behind. Clothing adjustments, bio breaks, and pacing check-ins as the group needs. This trail can have quite a bit of nettle this time of year, so long pants may be preferred.

Headlamp: We will be descending at a time when light is fading-- please check your headlamp batteries prior to this trip.

Restroom: there is a portapotty but cleanliness and stocked supplies are not reliable--please remember to bring any hygiene and pack out supplies for your needs.

Expectations: for you to arrive on time & ready for a fun adventure, to socialize and participate at your comfort level, advocate for your self any concerns or needs--it's YOUR hike too!

Goals: to embrace the adventure and enjoy the journey, return to trailhead safely

Please have boots on ready to hike by 5:30pm

Details and directions to meeting place will be sent in Hello Hiker email
