The Seattle Basic Refresher Clinics offer Basic Alpine Climbing graduates, and non-Mountaineer members with equivalent training and experience, the opportunity to review the skills and techniques they learned in the course.
This Seattle Basic Refresher Clinic - Alpine Rock Skills - covers the alpine rock climbing skills.
Skills to be practiced:
- Rock climbing (including face climbing, crack climbing, and friction climbing, depending on the climbing area).
- Belaying (top-rope and lead-climbing)
- Rappelling
- Anchor building
Sign up as assistant if have the skills and want to lead climb ( sport routes). Sign up as participant to top rope climb. We will choose routes according to participant skills and interest.
If you have the skills but not the course badges, email leader to sign up.
8:30 am Farside parking (Dirty Harry trailhead).
Discover Pass required.
Required Equipment
Rock climbing gear.
helmet, harness, belay device, ATC for rappelling, rock shoes, slings, at least 4 locking carabiners.
