Friction is the technique of climbing steep slabs where there are no obvious hand or foot holds.  Strength means nothing ; it's all about balance and careful, precise body movement.  It is good to learn friction technique early in your climbing career.  All climbing, except for some extreme moves, should be about foot placement and deliberate movement of body weight  over the feet.  Friction slabs force you to develop precise body movement because there ARE no handholds with which to "cheat".   You will learn slow motion dance on rock.

Evening seminar held at the basement slabs, Seattle Program Center.  Two 90 minute sessions offered each evening, 6:00 - 7:30 and 7:30 - 9:00.  Limit of five students per session gives time for individual attention.

ATTN INTENSE BASIC STUDENTS.  This will be an exact repetition of the friction station at your indoor field trip.  OK to repeat if you want, but understand that's what it will be.
