All of this hike will be in the dark and the trip will run rain or shine!
The goal is to build or maintain fitness through the winter so we're ready when climbing season comes back around. Bring a pack weight of your choosing, something that will challenge you, but allow you to keep a moderate pace. We'll aim for a pace of 1.5-2.0 mph, but will adjust based on the group's needs.
From the trailhead, we'll start on the Bullitt Fireplace trail at 6 p.m., connect with the Central Summit trail, then head to Squak Mountain Central Peak. At the top, we'll take a short snack break and admire the Squak Mountain Microwave. Then we'll return the way we came, with the option to take a short detour to see the Bullitt Fireplace.
Headlamps required.
If we've climbed together or you've been on one of my conditioning hikes before, you have permission to sign up! All others, please use the Request Leader's Permission button (direct emails often go to my spam folder) and let me know what hikes or other types of training you've done recently.
Meet at the Mountainside Drive Trailhead at 5:45pm for a quick introduction and briefing. Boots on the trail at 6:00pm sharp!
