The primary goal for the hike is to get a check on fitness and set expectations for the minimum fitness requirements for successful trips with the Basic Alpine Course. With that said, pack weight and mountaineering boots are optional. Dress as appropriate for the weather.
We will travel together as a group at all times for this trip.
This trip may be cancelled due to severe weather conditions (eg. high winds, snow storm etc.) or road closures.
Meet at the Blanchard mountain Trail Upper Parking lot at 9am and be ready to go at 9:15am. A discovery pass is required for parking at this TH.
Note: This is an alternative and less crowded approach to Oyster Dome. More info about the trail can be found here

Required Equipment
In addition to your 10 Essentials, you'll need microspikes, along with a headlamp and extra batteries. Weighted packs and mountaineering boots are optional, but a good idea to help you gauge your fitness and break in your boots.
