This conditioner is primarily intended for the KC/DC sig, although others are welcome to join. We will aim to ascend the old trail in roughly 2.5 hours, but we will stay together and slow down if that is too aggressive. Training weight is optional, and I recommend only bringing training weight for this one if you are confident that you can climb Mailbox faster than the intended pace (2.5 hours).

Note that due to the length of this conditioner, we will likely be returning to Seattle late - perhaps around midnight.

We will plan to meet at the lower Mailbox Trailhead (below the gate, on the Middle Fork road) at 6:15pm.  We will also organize carpools from Seattle as possible. Discover pass required for trailhead parking.

  • Spare batteries or a second headlamp (just in case, since we will definitely be hiking in the dark)
  • An extra layer or two for the summit
